Bromley Safeguarding Children Board

Welcome to the Bromley Safeguarding Children Board (BSCB) website. BSCB is a statutory board which has been established as part of the 'Every Child Matters' agenda. It is responsible for agreeing how all organisations working with children and young people co-operate to promote the welfare of children and young people and keep them safe from harm.
Childhood should be safe and enjoyable. The BSCB has a particular focus on the 'staying safe' outcome of the 5 Every Child Matters outcomes. This includes:

  • protecting children from maltreatment

  • preventing impairment of children’s health or development

  • promoting the provision of safe and effective care

The BSCB undertakes its role so as to optimise life chances for children and young people, helping them to enter adulthood successfully.

The BSCB brings representatives from key partner agencies together to develop, monitor and review safeguarding procedures and practice within Bromley.
